A little update from campaign headquarters...
I've had the opportunity to attend a few events and meetings in the community this past week.
January 8 2026: School Board Facilities and Finance Committee Meeting
January 14 2026:
League of Women Voters Food for Thought Lunch and Presentation by SEPO
UWO Strategic Plan Listening Session
OASD School Board Meeting
I like getting out in the community to hear people's stories, to see what's going on, and to talk with voters.
I've been asked how I would have voted on the budget reduction resolution that was presented at Wednesday night's school board meeting. I'm including a clip of the speech I gave during open forum (see below). While I didn't specifically address voting yes/no on the resolution, my frustration with public school funding from the state is pretty clear. It's something I've been frustrated with for a long time, especially pertaining to special education and other programs that help service students with higher support needs. To be super clear, EVERY child deserves to be served in our public schools, even if the cost to support and educate some students is higher. Because our state legislators refuse to properly fund public education, we are left with districts across the state having to go to local taxpayers to make up the difference, all while our state sits on a budget surplus!
But back to the original question. Would I have voted yes/no on the resolution? I would have voted yes. And I hate to say that. I take no joy in thinking about how this impacts educators or students. We shouldn't have to have these conversations, but we (public educators, districts, local taxpayers, students) have been dealt the impossible and cannot sustain ourselves financially or academically when state legislators refuse to do their constitutional duties of ensuring a public education for all. Again, I ask you to contact your state legislators and tell them we NEED to increase spendable aid and to close the special education funding gap. To find your state representative and state senator, visit https://myvote.wi.gov. If you would like to read more about state funding issues, I found these articles to be especially informative. But even if you Google "Wisconsin public school funding" you will find so many similar stories to our district, along with articles describing the issues.

Again, feel free to reach out and we can talk about this issue or whatever issues you find important.

Happy Spring Primary Season!
It's official that there will be a primary for the school board race. There are 5 candidates that handed in paperwork. There are TWO seats we are running to fill. This means that voters will get to choose TWO people at the Spring Primary on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. The primary will bring the race down to 4 candidates for the Spring Election on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. For more information on voting, ID requirements, polling places, and absentee voting, visit https://myvote.wi.gov or contact your municipal clerk. Make your voting plans now to ensure your vote is counted! I would be honored to receive your vote.
I want to thank everyone again that has helped me with signing nomination papers, circulating, and getting my name out in the community. Your support is what makes this campaign so special. Grassroots!
I've had questions regarding donations. I am not currently set up to take online/mobile donations, but am looking into that possibility. The issue with online/mobile donations is that a vendor like PayPal will take fees off donations to pay themselves, which isn't great. Your full donation should be used 100-percent for what it's intended for. But I also understand the convenience of mobile transactions, so stay tuned if you wish to use that option.
If you would like to donate by cash or by check, please call/text me at 920-379-5837 or email hello@malloryforoshkosh.com so I can arrange a time to pick up your donation.
I am in the process of creating yard signs, so if you are interested in one for your yard, call, text, or email me at my contacts above.
I will keep you all posted as events, meetings, and other opportunities arise in the next six weeks.
Thanks again for all of your support,
Mallory

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I am beyond thankful for the support of friends, family, and the community this month. Thank you so much to everyone that helped in these first steps of the campaign. I am also grateful for the conversations I've had with others in our community. It reminds me why I moved back to Oshkosh not only once, but TWICE. Again, a huge thanks to those that have circulated nomination papers, signed them, and spread the word. I am looking forward to the next several months on the campaign trail and continuing to serve the community.
Here's a quick recap of some events I attended in the last couple of weeks:
December 10 2025: Oshkosh Area School District, Board of Education Meeting
I attend almost every school board meeting, and this one was no exception. Due to the deficit our district is facing, I was especially interested in listening to the community's input during public forum. There are several reasons why we're in this position today, but state funding is a large piece of the issues we face. Local taxpayers should especially be aware of how state funding for public schools (or LACK of it) affects them. I plan to do a more specific write-up regarding state funding and public schools in the near future.
December 12 2025: Oshkosh Area School District, Policy and Governance Committee Meeting
There were several topics discussed during this meeting, but one that stood out to me was a new initiative for students regarding responsible social media and screen use, called the SMART Social Project. This is something I’ve been passionate about, and ties directly to how my campaign operates. From my understanding, SMART isn’t officially partnered with the district at this time, but will be up for discussion at the January policy and governance committee meeting. To learn more, follow this link, or attend the January 15th committee meeting at 730am at the district administration office: https://women.oshkoshareacf.org/smart-social-project
I am wrapping up collecting nomination signatures. If you are still interested in signing my papers, please contact me ASAP by either calling or texting 920-379-5837. I can come directly to you or meet up in a public space.
Best wishes as we head into the new year,
Mallory
